Devil’s Apple | Poison Garden Candle

Devil's Apple, a very thorny plant ally with tiny yellow 'apples' abundant. Plucked straight from the country Queensland fields of my childhood. This beautiful and twisted dark beauty is truely a poison unto its own. Found throughout QLD and South America. 

When I was a young girl, I would ride my horse out through the open paddocks and down to the creek. There I'd find the notorious Devil's Apple dotted along the path. Making sure not to graze it as we made our way through. Admiring its tiny 'apples', stunning purple flowers and long spikes for thorns. I'd be considering using this plant to smite enemies and whip up curses. 

BOTANICALS NOTES:

TOP: Crisp apples, lemon.

HEART: Peonies, red roses.

BASE: Pretty earthy musk.

• Uses in Witchcraft: Used for smiting enemies and curses. 
• Effects: If ingested, the Devil's Apple would cause vomiting and death. Although interestingly enough this plant has been studied for cancer cures for many years and when I was a child the scientists would come out to our property to take samples.
