Cosmic Conversations: Alyssa D’Amelio
Alyssa and I first met through CWS at markets, and she has always carried the most beautiful, grounded energy, the kind you remember long after you’ve crossed paths.
When we put out a call for models last year, her face appeared among hundreds of entries, and I knew immediately she was meant to be part of this experience.
Alyssa became part of our very first CWS photoshoot, held in the stunning forest of Macedon on Samhain Eve, an afternoon that felt nothing short of enchanted. Everything about it carried a quiet kind of magic, from the setting to the people who gathered to bring it to life.
I’m deeply grateful for Alyssa, and for the incredible team who helped shape that moment into something unforgettable.
So let's take a moment to chat with Alyssa, we are honoured to share her story with you.
1. At what point did you realise you wanted to explore witchcraft and the occult arts further? Was there a pivotal moment that hooked you?
There wasn’t a particular moment, more so a collection of feelings over the years that just felt right. I always attached myself deeply to mystical and magical worlds; books, movies and stories where I felt a longing to be in, like I belonged there and not here. Trying to find more of that feeling a homesickness that I couldn’t quite shake and witchcraft naturally felt like home.
2. What kind of witchcraft are you into and are there any books you are reading correlating to this?
I connect a lot to traditional and animistic practices, as well as exploring my heritage in Italian folklore. I always have my nose in all different traditions and ways of being, but do find myself deeply fascinated by Celtic and Norse paganism and shamanism.
3. What kind of work do you do and how can folks work with you? What are the benefits?
I am a certified Reiki and Breathwork Facilitator that loves to explore the liminal spaces and the human experience. On my Insta @alyssadamelio, people can connect with me! The benefits are endless, but simply put, I focus on creating internal and external environments for the nervous system to process and move through energy safely, to return the self back to its home in the body.
4. What is your signature scent or ultimate scent? And how does it make you feel?
Frankincense, patchouli and rosemary are my go-tos. I essentially want to smell like either an old church or like a forest. My signature fragrance is the beautiful Aureus by CWS. It feels like it connects me to both my feminine and masculine energy, which makes me feel safe, sexy and complete.
5. You're a Melbourne local, where are your favourite witchy places to visit?
We are spoiled for choice in Melbourne, but you’ll always find me with the trees in the Dandenong Ranges (Sherbrooke Forest and surrounds), at Elfhame Witchcraft Store in Olinda spending too much money on witchy trinkets and potions, or exploring old cemeteries.
6. If we peered behind the veil of your daily morning routine, what is one non-negotiable ritual that keeps your spirit grounded?
Movement is my morning medicine. I check in with my energy, perhaps it’s depleted or neurotic and moving around physically ensures I don’t carry anything I don’t need into my day. Tai chi/Qi Gong, dancing, humming/singing and breathwork are all game-changing techniques that can meet me where I’m at.
Banish: Energetic ties, contracts and ideas that are not mine and I did not consent to absorbing.
Hex: Systems and programs in our technology designed to drain, scare and monitor — they can piss off.
Draw In: More clarity and peace in my thoughts. Less mind prison, more mind palace.
With gratitude to Alyssa for sharing her story, her practice, and a glimpse into her world.
